Step 4. Online Application

Applications to the programs within the Graduate School of Health Sciences are submitted online via “BİLSİS.”

Uploading Required Documents to the System

1) Candidate Registration and Exam Entry Form (to be printed from the system).  After completing the online application, the form generated by the system must be printed by the applicant and signed by the applicant

2) Photograph (must be in .pdf format)

3) Diploma or Graduation Certificate (must be in .pdf format)

  • For Master’s applications: one (1) bachelor’s graduation certificate
  • For PhD applications: one (1) bachelor’s and one (1) master’s graduation certificate

(If a Graduation Certificate from e-Government is not available, upload a scanned copy of the original diploma or a certified copy.)

4)  Transcript (must be in .pdf format)

  • For Master’s applications: one (1) bachelor’s transcript showing the graduation GPA
  • For PhD applications: one (1) bachelor’s transcript and one (1) master’s transcript showing the graduation GPAs

(If a transcript from e-Government is not available, upload a scanned copy of the certified transcript.)

Graduates of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine who will apply to PhD programs must upload their bachelor’s transcript under both the bachelor’s and master’s transcript sections.

Applications are evaluated according to the 100-point grading system.

  • If your transcript includes a grade already expressed on the 100-point scale determined by your university, you must apply with that 100-point grade.
  • Although the application screen allows entry for both 4-point and 100-point scales, the 100-point entry is required. If your transcript is on the 4-point scale and does not display the 100-point equivalent, only the YÖK (Council of Higher Education) conversion table from the 4-point to the 100-point system will be used for conversion. Click here for the table.
  • A Diploma Supplement will not be accepted in place of a transcript.

Important Note: Applications made using a self-calculated grade conversion or a conversion document issued by your university other than the transcript will not be accepted; even if you pass the exam, your student registration will not be completed.

Important Note: If you are about to graduate and your uploaded transcript does not include a graduation average, you must enter the cumulative average of your last term. If you gain the right to register, the GPA you uploaded at the time of application will be taken into account; a subsequently calculated graduation average will not be valid.

5) General Aptitude Exam Result Document (must be in .pdf format)

(General Aptitude Exam Result Documents are valid for five (5) years from the date results are announced. See the YÖK decision on the validity of ALES–GRE–GMAT result documents.)

  • ALES Result Document: one (1) ALES Result Document showing that you meet the scores specified in the General Aptitude and Foreign Language Scores Table (ÖSYM Exam Result Document).
  • GRE/GMAT Result Document: For applications with GRE or GMAT, the conversions specified in the “GRE (139–170) – ALES” and “GMAT – ALES” tables are applicable and will be used.
  • TUS Result Document:

For applications to Basic Medical Sciences, instead of ALES, submit one (1) TUS result document showing that you have obtained at least 60 points within the last five (5) years.

The Basic Medicine score is calculated as: (0.7 × the standard score from TUS Basic Medical Sciences Test-1) + (0.3 × the standard score from the Clinical Medical Sciences Test), and the sum must be at least 60.

Important Note: For applicants who have completed a doctorate / proficiency in arts / medical specialty, the general aptitude requirement is not sought in master’s and PhD applications. If such applicants do not have a general aptitude score at the time of application to our Institute’s master’s or PhD programs, a general aptitude score of 70 will be used solely for evaluation purposes. 6) Foreign Language Exam Result Document (must be in .pdf format)

(Foreign Language Exam Result Documents are valid for five (5) years from the date results are announced.)

  • YDS Result Document: one (1) YDS Result Document showing that you have obtained the minimum required score or higher specified in the General Aptitude and Foreign Language Scores Table.
  • Result documents from international exams listed in ÖSYM’s Foreign Language Exam Equivalency Directive and Equivalency Table (e.g., CPE, CAE, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic).
  • YÖKDİL exam result document. YÖKDİL and e-YÖKDİL scores are accepted as equivalent to YDS scores (per YÖK’s decision on YÖKDİL–YDS score equivalence).
