General Application Requirements of Graduate School of Health Sciences Programs

Mater of Science (Without Thesis)

  • To have a bachelors diploma of the programs suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
  • To have at least the minimum ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score (GRE-GMAT, (*)TUS, (*)YDUS score) suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
  • To have at least the minimum foreign language score (YDS, YOKDIL, TIPDIL, CPE, CAE, TOEFL-IBT, PTE score) suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
  • To have at least C1 level TOMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) certificate. (For international candidates)
  • To have a diploma equivalence certificate from YOK (Council of Higher Education). (For international candidates and Turkish candidates obtained diploma in foreign countries.)

Master of Science (With Thesis)

  • To have a bachelors diploma of the programs suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
  • To have at least 60 ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score. (GRE-GMAT, (*)TUS)
  • To have at least 60 foreign language score. (YDS, YOKDIL, TIPDIL, CPE, TOEFL-IBT, PTE)
  • To have at least C1 level TOMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) certificate. (For international candidates)
  • To have a diploma equivalence certificate from YOK (Council of Higher Education). (For international candidates and Turkish candidates obtained diploma in foreign countries.)

Doctorate

  • For master of science graduates
    • To have a master of science diploma of the programs suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
    • To have at least 60 ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score. (GRE-GMAT, (*)TUS score)
    • To have at least 70 foreign language score. (YDS, YOKDIL, TIPDIL, CPE, TOEFL-IBT, PTE)
    • To have at least C1 level TOMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) certificate. (For international candidates)
    • To have a diploma equivalence certificate from YOK (Council of Higher Education). (For international candidates and Turkish candidates obtained diploma in foreign countries.)
  • For graduates of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Faculties
    • To have a bachelors diploma of the programs suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board
    • To have at least 60 ALES score (GRE-GMAT, (*)TUS score).
    • To have at least 70 foreign language score. (YDS, YOKDIL, TIPDIL, CPE, TOEFL-IBT, PTE)
    • To have at least C1 level TOMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) certificate. (For international candidates)
    • To have a diploma equivalence certificate from YOK (Council of Higher Education). (For international candidates and Turkish candidates obtained diploma in foreign countries.)

Integrated Doctorate

  • To have a bachelors diploma (at least 3.00/4.00 GPA) of the programs suggested by related Department Academic Board and approved by Graduate School of Health Sciences Board.
  • To have at least 80 ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score. (GRE-GMAT, (*)TUS)
  • To have at least 70 foreign language score. (YDS, YOKDIL, TIPDIL, CPE, TOEFL-IBT, PTE)
  • To have at least C1 level TOMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) certificate. (For international candidates)
  • To have a diploma equivalence certificate from YOK (Council of Higher Education). (For international candidates and Turkish candidates obtained diploma in foreign countries.)

*For programs in Basic Medical Sciences (**)Basic Medical Sciences score of TUS is also valid.

** Basic Medical Sciences Score is calculated as follows.

[(basic medical sciences test 1 score) x 0.7 + (clinical medical sciences test score) x 0.3]

Application and Registration

Terms of Application (for Turkish and International candidates)

  • Days of application are indicated in Academic Calenders. Deadline is at 17.30 pm on the final day of application indicated in Academic Calender.
  • Please check the “Candidate User’s Guide’’ first to complete online applications easily.
  • Online applications are performed through //enstitu.hacettepe.edu.tr/aday.jsp (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is reqired). Candidates should enroll in the system from “Uye ol” part of “Aday Ogrenci” link. The password and username will be sent to candidate’s e-mail address or mobile phone at the end of the process.
  • Candidates may log in the system from “Aday Ogrenci” tab, using their user names and passwords and make applications for the desired programs.
  • Candidates who have completed their applications should be present at the exam venue, at the specified date and time with “Candidate’s Registration and Exam Entry Form” and other required documents. Date, time and venue of the enterance exams for the applied programs will be declared on the application screens and on the forms. No document will be delivered to Graduate School of Health Science Student Affairs Office during online applications and there will be no approval for online applications by the Graduate School of Health Sciences.
  • Candidates who provide application requirements of the programs and upload the required documents to online application system accurately will be evaluated by the exam juries.
  • The documents uploaded to the system must either be originals or certified copies.
  • After the exam, application documents should be received back by candidates since these documents are required for final registration.

 Required Documents for Application

  • Candidate’s Registration and Exam Entry Form 
    • After online application, the form created by the system should be printed and signed by the candidate.
  • Diploma or Graduation Certificate 
    • The certified copy of the Bachelor’s Diploma is required for MSc applications.
    • The certified copy of the Bachelor’s Diploma and the certified copy of the Master’s Diploma are required for PhD applications.
  • Transcript
    • An original bachelor’s transcript indicating grade point average (GPA) is required for MSc applications.
    • An original undergraduate and master’s transcript showing GPA are required for PhD applications.
      • Only original transcripts are accepted, not the photocopies.
      • Applications are evaluated according to the 100-note grading system. (If the original transcript is prepared in 100-note grading system, the grade point average will be considered. If the original transcript is prepared in 4-note grading system, Council of Higher Education (YOK’s) conversation table will be used to convert 4-note grading system to 100-note grading system.
  • ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) Score 
  • Substitutes for ALES Score
    • GRE-GMAT Score
      • Minimum score of 149 from Quantitive Reasoning of GRE is accepted as a subtitute for ALES.
      • Minimum score of 450 from GMAT is accepted as a substitute for ALES.
      • Please check ALES-GRE and ALES-GMAT conversion tables.
    • TUS Score  
      • Candidates may apply to the graduate programs in basic medical sciences with the score of Speciaslization Exam in Medicine (TUS) score.
      • TUS score must be obtained in the last five (5) years.
      • TUS score is calculated as follows. [(basic medical sciences score) x 0.7 + (clinical medical sciences score) x 0.3], must be at least 55.
    • YDUS Score
      • YDUS score may substitute ALES for some programs. (Candidates applying with YDUS score may learn minimum YDUS scores required for programs, using the table.)
  • Foreign Language Score
  • Reference Letter
    • ONLY some departments require two reference letters during entrance (List of these departments are given in the table.)
    • There is no definite template for reference letter. You should contact with the department you applied for detailed information about referance letter.
  • Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center (TOMER) Certificate (at C1 level)(For international candicates)(Not necessary for programs which gives education in foreign languages.)
  • Diploma Equivalence Certificate (For international candidates and Turkish candidates who has first and/or second cycle degrees in foreign countries
    • YOK’s decision on "The Obligation of Diploma Equivalence Certificate")
    • Candidates with no "Diploma Equivalence Certificate" may apply with "YOK Recognition Document" but If YOK doesn't approve the "Diploma Equivalence Certificate" when Graduate School of Health Sciences forwards students registration to YOK, the registration of the student will be invalid.
  • A Copy of ID Card on A4 Paper (For Turkish candidates)
  • A Copy of Passport on A4 paper (For international candidates)

***These documents for application listed above should be uploaded to the system and should be brought to the exam as well. These documents should be delivered to the Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs Office for candidate’s final registration if the candidate achieves the right to enroll.

***The documents uploaded to the system must either be the originals or certified copies.

***The documents uploaded to the system must be readable, clear and complete. If it is determined that the information uploaded is incorrect, false or incomplete, the final registration will not gain validity and will be canceled by the Institute even if it was done.

Final Registration Procedures

  • In addition to uploaded documents, candidates should deliver the following documents  to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs:
    • Two (2) Photos
    • ID Application Form (For candidates requesting Hacettepe University ID card)
      • ID application form may only be given in application week.
    • Employment Certificate (For research assistants)
      • Reserach assistants should deliver their employment certificates prepared by their faculties to Student Affairs. Otherwise they wont be registered.
    • Foreign National Number (For international candidates) (a number given from Turkish Republic General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs such as “YU9…..”)
    • Certificate of Residance (For international candidates)
      • A document that shows where an international candidate resides.
    • Turkish translation of transkript, diploma and passport (For internatiomal candidates)
  • Candidates who passed the interview and achieved the right to enroll should deliver the documents to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs individually.

***The documents delivered to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs must either be the originals or certified copies.

***The documents delivered to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs must be readable, clear and complete. If it is determined that the information presented is incorrect, false or incomplete, the final registration will not gain validity and will be canceled by the Institute even if it was done.

Course Selection

  • Registered students log in the system by clicking the student option in system reception menu via student username (student number as well) and student password sent to their e-mail addresses.
  • Students may see the tuition amount in tuition information section during course selection.
    • Tuition for Turkish students who exceeded the normal learning duration of education periods (12 semesters for integrated PhD, 8 semesters for PhD, 4 semesters for Master of Science with thesis and 2 semesters for Master of Science without thesis) of programs is 129 TL per semester.
    • Tuition for international students is 1548 TL per semester. (International students pay tuition for each semester that a course taken, from the begining of studentship. Normal duration rules are not valid for international students.)
    • Tuition amount for programs in foreign languages is 1.5 times the tuition amount of programs in Turkish.
  • Students select courses with their consultants. Selected courses should be confirmed by the student and the consultant as well.
  • Students who selected courses with their consultants should get 3 copies of ‘Program Registration Form’(a form showing the selected courses) printed from the system.
    • ‘Program Registration Forms’ should be signed by the student, the consultant and the chair of the department.
    • One copy of the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ should be delivered to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs.
    • The selected courses of the student who doesn’t deliver the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ to Student Affairs will be crossed out right after the application week and the registration will be declared null and void.
    • One copy of the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ should stay be given to the chair of the department and the student should keep the last one.
  • After the steps above final registration procedures will be completed.

Add-Drop Process

  • No moves should be done if there is no need to a change on course list.
  • Students in need of add-drop should put his/her course list into the final form with their consultant and the final form of the course list should be confirmed by the student and the consultant as well.
  • Students carried out add-drop with their consultants should get 3 copies of ‘Program Registration Form’(a form showing the selected courses) printed from the system.
    • Program Registration Forms should be signed by the student, the consultant and the head of department.
    • One copy of the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ should be delivered to Graduate School of Health Sciences Student Affairs.
    • The final course list of the student who doesn’t deliver one of the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ to Student Affairs will be crossed out right after the application week and the registration will be declared null and void.
    • One copy of the signed ‘Program Registration Form’ should stay at the chair of the department and the student should keep the last one.
  • After the steps above add-drop process will be completed.
